I can obtain a 9600x (cheaper than a Ryzen 7700) or 7600x to cut costs a bit. The price depends on what I can secure with my existing CPU and memory setup. Around 150 euros for the motherboard, PCIe slot, and GPU, plus ATX.

No, you haven't mentioned using DDR5 with the 12600K yet.

I'm aware of the current market trends. Prices for similar specs are quite high right now.

Try pushing the i5 12600KF to its limit and check the results. If it doesn’t meet expectations, switch to an i7 12700K or a more powerful compatible CPU.

I replaced my CPU with a new 12700KF, but it's pricier than the 13600KF. Used options are limited.

Have you checked how the 12600K and 9600X compare? It doesn’t show enough improvement to be convincing. Unless you push it to 9800X3D, a big jump becomes noticeable. Probably only makes sense if you need extra power for low-end systems.

It's more affordable than upgrading to a new platform. As someone who juggles many tasks, adding more cores will offer a solid advantage.

13600k(f) matches the speed of 12700k(f). Cache variations matter, while the 14600k(f) performs comparably to a 12900kf in multi-core setups and runs quicker on a single core.

Most of these gains appear at noticeable levels only when using a frame counter. A few offer larger jumps (such as AC Valhalla), but spending over 350 for a platform upgrade to boost from 60 to 90 fps in a slow game doesn’t seem justified. The actual feel of playing won’t change much. AM5 X3D is the only practical upgrade for your current CPU. If it’s too costly now, stick with your 12600K. I’m sure it’ll work fine.
