The main item won’t reach the bottom, and I’m not sure about breaking it.

From the image, it appears everything is aligned properly. The notches match and the setup looks correct. The issue might be elsewhere—consider capturing a side view to better assess the CPU positioning.

Place the component at the base on top of the CPU, then lower the metal piece from above. It might need a bit of effort. The bottom part doesn’t need to be pressed down—just position it over the CPU and the top piece will secure it.

The file doesn't rest evenly on the CPU.

It appears everything is functioning as expected. The protective cover is designed to detach when you place it down. You can view a demonstration in the linked video. Alternatively, you can remove the cover immediately; it will then rest smoothly.

It's set up but during descent it produced unstable noises—I'm uncertain if this was intentional, but it's happening now.

It doesn’t seem to be working well. Consider retrieving it to check for any problems. Once the plastic cover is removed, it should lie flat without issues.

Probably the material causing the sound when it was ejected.

The problem seems to be with the black plastic. It should come off easily when opening the socket, but it hasn't happened yet. Removing it shouldn't cause any issues. Keep the plastic piece in a safe place, perhaps in the box, as it's intended to shield the pins during transport or repairs.

Noise is typical. It might seem a bit unsettling when you're new to it.
