I’m not seeking a Power-line adapter. I need a Wi-Fi extender with simple setup using WPS. I want to connect my computer in another room that doesn’t have Wi-Fi, just plug the Ethernet cable into the TP Link N300 extender. Will I still have internet access? That’s all I’m asking for.
People still rely on WPS today? Probably only if you're connecting it to one of these gadgets. You'll need to confirm your router also supports WPS and wireless-N (WiFi 4). That's the purpose of the port. It depends on how strong the main signal is from the extender. Check out the reasons here.
Well, it seems the earlier explanation might not have been clear. The port exists to let a wired device join the WiFi network through an extender. This detail is mentioned in the product description. Remember, the extender's placement matters because the strength of its signal affects your connection quality. A wireless repeater can only amplify what it can detect; starting with a strong signal gives better results than a weak one. The linked video remains useful. Your PC connects to the extender via Ethernet instead of WiFi.
