Hey everyone, I've attempted various factory resets on my Windows 10 laptop, but it displays "Getting things ready this won't take long." Then it asks for the recovery environment. Since I don’t have a recovery disk installed, I’m unsure what to do as I’m trying to reset the device before selling it.

Obtain a USB drive and download the W10 ISO from the Microsoft website.

I haven't experienced this before? Are there alternative options? I don’t have a USB or disk.

Your recovery drive isn't working properly or doesn't exist. The Windows 10 USB installation utility offers a repair feature. Check out the guidance at the provided link to create one for free: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software...windows10/

No, removing the system 32 wouldn't automatically start a factory reset.

USB and disk storage are the only methods I'm familiar with. I might reach out to a friend or someone with an extra USB drive.

Removing Sys32 wouldn't eliminate the necessity for a Windows installation repair.
