He got a document from an unknown person, labeled MS14. I don’t recognize the format and can’t open it anywhere.

It might be anything unusual—a fresh file format needing special tools the sender created, or just a changed .png or .docx name… Asking the person who sent it could help clarify.

The file type isn't familiar, yet MS14 denotes Microsoft Security Bulletins released in 2014.

It appears the file was created using MS Word. I believe there may be an issue with the document, but thank you for your input.
