I feel no fear about that since I've been using a home MC server before. For me, just a basic plugin solved everything whenever someone tried to DDoS me—it stopped it instantly.

Unlikely. The typical timeframe is 4 to 8 months. Most operating systems that can run continuously from USB drives only update configuration files and don’t modify the main system.

If using a USB 2.0 connection, you might encounter slower speeds, but a USB 3.0 device in a compatible port would be much faster. Just remember that even a reliable drive can stop working after about six months if not used properly.
