I haven't used much of this PC recently since I installed it in 2015. Upgrading from 8GB RAM (two 4GB sticks) to 16GB RAM (four 4GB sticks) was affordable. Right now, my two existing RAM modules and both of my brand-new 4GB sticks only fit in the two red slots. No matter what RAM I install, the black slots don't work. The computer powers on with any configuration that uses four or more sticks, but it never shows anything after resetting the CMOS. Only the four 4GB sticks (regardless of brand) seem to fit in just the two red slots. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY I don't have a beeper to hear, but it's clear to some extent. The black slots don't function even when used alone? Should I adjust anything in the BIOS? It's an ASRock Z97X Killer MMOB.

It seems your memory is working well, but the RAM slots might be faulty.

The issue arises because DDR3_A1 & DDR3_B1 don't match with DDR3_A2 & DDR3_B2.

Defects in the motherboard are uncommon, though they can occur.

Are there any details in the bios that can assist with troubleshooting? How can I verify whether slots are truly dead without making assumptions about functionality? This isn’t enough for me.

I am not aware of any setting in any BIOS that would disable RAM slots like that. My only other suggest is to swap out for a differ Z97 series CPU, as it's minutely possible your CPU cant accept the second channel of ram due to a defect in the CPU.
