It seems I've already tested all possible setups—placing the single stick in every slot, but it only works in the rear slot. When using dual channel, the manual advises putting it in slots 2 and 4, yet that causes problems and prevents Windows from booting properly. The same issue occurs when dual channel RAM is inserted into slots 1 and 3.
If it keeps doing that, I’d say you should still have the warranty return process if you’re getting the RMA for the phone.
It seems I managed to resolve the issue, though it was the most challenging situation. It turned out there was a problem with my CPU memory controller. I tested with a 5600X and everything worked well. After returning the 5800X3D, I swapped it in for a 5900X and have been using both RAM sticks in dual channel without any issues.
Great job figuring it out!
The solution is really satisfying.
CPU DEBUG LIGHT FIX!!! Your PC is actually running now after a long struggle. I found your fix online—it was just swapping RAM types that fit the motherboard. I wish I had noticed this earlier when I was setting it up in September. Changed from a 2x16GB 3200MHz to a Cosair Vengeance 2x16 at 3200MHz. Just bought the cheapest set from BestBuy, and it worked! The problem was the system wouldn’t boot unless there was one stick of RAM. It didn’t matter if they were two sticks or just one; as long as there was one, it failed. Both kits were the same. If it had two sticks, the CPU debug light would appear. (It made me think the RAM was fine since both worked alone) BUT NO! I’m pretty sure it’s an old RAM, so I don’t know. Just glad you saved it from a full rebuild, thanks! MSI MAG B550 T 5800X3D 6700XT 2TB 980 EVO 32GB Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz Corsair RMX 1000
I'm glad I could assist. I've noticed many cases where specific Corsair products were causing performance issues. You should also be aware of certain SKUs since some are available in both single and dual ranks without clear differentiation, which can affect Ryzen systems.
