Hello, I need to upgrade my old Samsung Evo 250GB SSD (currently running Win11, upgraded from 10) to a new 2TB Samsung 980 Pro. I plan to install a fresh Windows 11 setup. No other components changed. The new drive is initialized with a GPT partition and has the latest firmware (rev 5-something via Samsung Magician). System health and benchmarks are good. My Asus Z370A BIOS is now at version 3004, Multicore enhancement disabled, XMP disabled, TPM set to Firmware TPM. I’m encountering the error: "This PC can't run Windows 11." It seems the issue persists despite previous changes—only the SSD and BIOS update were made. I tried enabling discrete TPM, but the system restarts twice before reverting to firmware TPM. Also attempted XMP and multicore enhancement to minimize variables. What might be causing this?

Ensure UEFI mode is enabled and secure boot is activated. Use TPM version 2.0 for enhanced security. Avoid running XMP to prevent compromising system stability.

UEFI and secure boot are active. The TMP option offers two choices—Discrete or Firmware—without the 1.0 or disabled selections. XMP is turned off only for Windows setups to boost stability, a recommendation from JayzTwoCents; I intend to reactivate it after installing Windows 11.

Great to hear that! You successfully used the Windows Media Creation Tool and appreciated the reminder about Rufus.

I just changed the tumb drive from the back port to a front port. It’s surprising how this might fix the problem, but it seems to be working now.

Sure, I'd suggest using a USB 2.0 port. USB 3.0 has caused some issues, so sticking with USB 2.0 might be safer. Make sure the two main ports on the back are also USB 2.0.
