I own an HP Z620 workstation used for dual processors. I noticed it would crash unexpectedly, often ending in a black screen and requiring a hard restart. The issue disappeared after removing the second CPU, suggesting the problem was with the riser board holding that chip. After replacing it, the system ran smoothly for months. Currently, I'm building a custom setup with the same chip and experiencing various issues: it may not POST, freeze to black screen, restart every five seconds, or crash within a minute. Changing memory slots helps a few times but then it fails again. All RAM functions on another board, while this one's RAM works fine. It seems the CPU is likely the cause, as similar symptoms appear in both systems. I'm planning to test another LGA 2011 CPU if possible, though I'm unsure if I should buy one unless I confirm the need. The Xeon E5-2690 is my processor, and the X79 board is the motherboard. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It seems the X79 Turbo might not be compatible with Xeon processors. There appears to be limited documentation available, and it could be a Chinese-made alternative.

It's a fake, indeed. I've watched clips showing the same Xeon e5 model on that setup, so I think it might function.

It could definitely be a faulty CPU. It seems like this might be coming across more often than usual.
