If you have a 500GB SSD, that works fine. I currently have about 240GB and use an additional 180GB HDD to store my Steam games, mainly for Battle.net titles. I keep the rest on the HDD because I prefer keeping things organized, though I’m not sure if that’s the best setup.

It's possible, though HDDs remain widely available now. Optimizing for this situation seems unrealistic for most users. Expect developers to overlook the need for large games on flash storage in the near future. This might become more feasible in 5–10 years.

I dealt with a setup involving a 970 and 4790k, which remains quite an issue moving between my mom's house and my dad's (perhaps due to having two monitors).
