The title accurately reflects the situation. I explored various solutions—checked the controller in other games, reinstalled the driver, cleared the Steam cache, reinstalled the game, tried different ports—but nothing resolved the issue. The in-game controller settings only display a PS4 Dual-Shock, and I can’t modify that. It seems I’m the only one experiencing this problem, but I really wish someone could help.
The 360 Wireless controller is the top choice. I own three of these, along with a Logitech Racing Wheel and a HOTAS. Some games get mixed up about which one to use. Always switch on the wireless controller first before opening the USB controllers settings so you can pick your preferred device.
Thanks for the guidance! I had another device selected as my preferred one, but it doesn't include the "Controller (XBOX 360 for Windows)" choice. I only have the wireless receiver, my mouse, and an unusual Xinput device.
In one of those buttons you'll find the preferred device (advanced or properties). However, it isn't labeled "Wireless Controller" since it's actually a "Wireless Receiver." That's accurate. If needed, look for the other devices and disconnect them. Even with the correct setting, the game won't necessarily follow those rules. The only sure way to ensure your game uses the right device is to remove all others completely.
