Trim the clip or simply bend both sections; usually loosening the pin resolves the issue. Alternatively, insert it directly—this often solves the problem as well.

You meant to move the right side away from the left side horizontally, aligning it with the CPU fan as shown.

I tested both horizontal and vertical positions, pushed the right side toward it but it doesn’t come off. I’m having trouble with 4+4 and that gray block isn’t letting me proceed.

Used a strong approach with your technique. Another issue, the 24-pin goes in more than half but not all the way into the motherboard—it won’t fit, so just skip it.
