I noticed many creators using i5 12400F with 3600 MHz RAM, but this chip only handles up to 3200 MHz. The issue likely lies in the compatibility of the RAM speed with the CPU's capabilities.

XMP and DOCP settings are unofficial overclocking options. 3600 DDR4 should function with 12400F.

It's been running smoothly at 3600 perfectly gear 1, so everything should be okay.

This means XMP doesn't depend on the CPU maker's restrictions for DDR4 RAM (like 3200 MHz).

It varies based on your motherboard model. For B660, Z690, or H670, you can use the memory speed supported by both the chip's IMC and the board. With H610, you're limited to 3200 MHz regardless of settings.

Stability may differ, as only specific speeds are officially supported.
