JC3 is a poor example. My FPS ranges from 40 to 70 at 1440p Ultra. It isn't the most optimized game because the graphics aren't very impressive. I thought I'd see over 100 FPS when watching gameplay videos, but it still works. There are users in the JC forum with 980Ti who experience frame drops under 10. That makes it really hard to predict performance. I wouldn't expect much from this card either.
