For LN2 overclocking some folks use Kneadable Art Eraser to protect the motherboard. This is similar to buying overclockable parts but not going that far. If issues like water cooling, faulty AIOs, or excess moisture occur due to rain, can people still leave their boards unprotected? If yes, is there any reason others don’t do it? Could appearance be the main barrier aside from overclocking? Has anyone tried this for insulation and cooling before? How much of the board can be covered without affecting performance or cooling? Also, can KAE be used to cover capacitors? Do capacitors require cooling? I’m curious about how long it would last and which components should stay uncovered. It should also help keep dust away and make cleaning easier.

It's understandable to feel worried, but technically you could face serious health risks at any moment. Would you choose to stay in a hospital for safety?

In high humidity conditions, static electricity diminishes. Although it won't be ideal to remove moisture from your PC, everyday humidity levels won't damage components except by speeding up corrosion.

Well i can tell you its really easy to just push of SMD elements, that will result in your hardware not functioning anymore. So there is a definite risk. Normally not, altho they do have a working temperature. So you want them to be able to reach those temps. (or is that only for audio equipment) All in all personally i would think the kneed-able stuff is only for when other options wont work. You better of covering all the ports and spraying clear lacquer on it or similar like @8tg said.

I'm referring to all the capacitors on the motherboard.

these erasers hold dust more effectively than the main board itself... and you'll end up removing it when attempting to clear dust from the motherboard.

I have genuine questions. With a paint brush of 1-1.5 inch width, I could remove it easily. Canned air isn’t practical here due to high costs, so I haven’t used it. I prefer cloth or good quality cloth—yes, I always use a paint brush. It helps me reach tight spaces, clean capacitors, and apply less pressure. Are there other cleaning methods for the motherboard? I’m considering plastic coating or clear coating, but not the whole board. This time I’m just being lazy and hoping to reduce cleaning frequency. Since it’s a construction site, dust is everywhere now. I know someone who tried this, but they didn’t because of health issues—my science teacher, unfortunately. In India, we usually learn outside the classroom, not from school itself.

They can be used to sanitize the motherboard? I’m curious about their effectiveness.
