The process of defragging an SSD doesn't inherently damage the drive. It's simply rearranging data to optimize performance. The concern about write cycles comes from the idea that frequent defragmentation uses up storage space, which can eventually lead to wear over time. However, modern SSDs are designed to handle this much more efficiently than traditional HDDs, making the impact minimal. People avoid it mainly because of the potential for unnecessary wear, not because defragging itself is harmful.

Reforming an SSD provides no benefit since they don’t break down and require huge amounts of write operations for no cause. This is detrimental.

Also, a standard SSD can endure more than 800TB of written information. You’d need to repeatedly defrag it thousands of times to render it useless. Get real.

It seems you're asking about a moment when being a jerk was necessary, but it looks like there might be some confusion. Could you clarify the context?

CCleaner works adequately without causing harm to an SSD, aside from its erase feature that resets the drive to zeroes, which can wipe out any stored information. It’s only needed during disposal or when removing the device.
