I don’t recall much about it, but I remember you had to move around the area and gather coins. The only way to describe the art would be that it felt natural—kind of like Hobbit or Middle-earth style—and quite impressive for its era. I think you navigated the level using your tongue and your character was some kind of animal-like creature. There were bronze, silver, and gold coins plus other items to collect. I don’t know exactly where you played, but I mostly used AddictingGames or a similar website.

Looking in the shadows, but are you considering "oddworld"? Edit: don't worry about oddworld, you just need to install it. It really does resemble what you mentioned.

Move swiftly to gather coins while interacting with the character's tongue. The Mario creature resembles a duplicate in my view.
