I monitored the crypto overnight. Two mornings later I discovered it was spinning at 0 rpm. I gave it a gentle shake and it resumed operation. The CPU temperature stayed above 90°C. Should I return it or investigate if this occurs in PWM mode? It was running with voltage fan curve control when it failed.

It appears the fan voltage wasn't sufficient. Consider using PWM or setting a constant speed.

The fan curve peaks at 1200mV. That should be sufficient. Edit: 12000mV* it would have hit that limit at 80°C, so unless the motherboard is faulty, it would have reached 12000mV. I've applied voltage control with this board for some time, higher voltages would be forced onto the fans as intended and this never occurred.

1200mv only means 1.2v, but most fans built for PCs work at 12v. You’d need an adapter like this one to connect the fan directly to the PSU, since some systems aren’t built for low-speed fans like this.

I started the BIOS to verify, recalling that 1200 comes from units measured in (10mv).
