Out of those 2 prefer the b550m pg riptide A much cheaper option would be this b350 gaming plus, i mean its a 5600 the only tuning you really need to do is just allcore 4.7-4.8ghz and done, no ram tweaking neccesary and itll cap out at 3800 ish anyways so mobo will be fine specify what budget and what features you need on the mobo (ex # of usb a ports, onboard wifi, etc.) Also is this a new build or are you just platform swapping an old build?
They are quite alike. The B550M Pro4 uses an ALC1200 soundcard, while the riptide model has an ALC897. The riptide offers 2.5GB of storage versus 1GB on the Pro4. It also has marginally better VRM performance, though that won't be a big factor according to @Somerandomtechyboi.
Upgrading from A320 to B550 fits your budget under 2 million IDR.
Remaining components? Any additional items you're purchasing? What specifications and connections does your motherboard require? You don’t need to invest more than 1.2jt in used B350/450 boards like the Tomahawk.
yeah, none sih but my preff new first (cause for long term maybe 3 or 5 more even more years) ASUS TUF GAMING B450M PRO II ASROCK B450M PRO4-F R2.0 MSI B450-A PRO MAX (i like see they heatsink btw) tomahawk new board is 1.7jt , while used as pertoday 1.1 - 1.4jt (but i'll keep this in listed) i already thinking maybe you right better choose B450 cause gen 3 and 4 not different at perfomance.
B450 tomahawk around 1.2jt This B350 gaming model plus I linked is 750rb. The rear I/O appears identical on both boards; I’m going with the B350 for the 5600 since the device can’t reliably clock rams beyond 3800 for a perfect 1:1 FCLK. The B450 supports a Ryzen 5500, which handles 4533+ dual rank and 5000+ single rank longevity. Longevity isn’t a big concern—within 2-3 years you’ll likely swap the platform anyway. The board should last well over five years before naturally failing, not due to dust. I own a Giga G31M S2C (FSB WF for G31) and believe it’s probably 15 or 17 years old now. My P5Q and other boards generally last 15-20 years, so the B350 is only about 6-7 years old, still with plenty of life left.
That's a solid board, isn't it? The B450 is definitely a top-tier machine. Not just any old model—this one really shines!
