Just after Black Friday I purchased an I7-12700FK and an ASUS Z690. After setting everything up last night and trying to boost performance, the BIOS displayed two storage devices but no bootable drive. I have a M.2 SSD for my main drive and a 870 EVO SATA drive as extra storage. I can boot through the BIOS and Windows 11 works well, but after restarting it fails to start. I switched to UEFI only and used CSM, yet it still boots fine but is frustrating to have to enter BIOS just to load Windows. Any suggestions would be appreciated. System details: I7-12700FK RTX3070, ASUS Z690P-WIFI, D4 Team Group, DDR4 32GB, Samsung 970/990 M.2, 870 EVO SATA.

Try changing the bios battery, I know it shouldn't be like this ut it might have sat for a while before being sold. When ypu take the battery out, reset the bios just to be sure. That's what I'd do anyway. Hope it helps!

Have you moved the operating system from the old setup? Restarting Windows is advised during a motherboard upgrade.
