I checked the specifications and performance of your new PC. The RAM you purchased is 5600x with 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 at 3600MHz, marketed as optimized for AMD Ryzen processors. It works perfectly without any issues. Recently, I noticed that 3600MHz RAM is often priced similarly or even lower in Scandinavian stores compared to 3200MHz options. I’m curious if there’s a specific reason behind this pricing or performance difference. For my part, I’ve experimented with different DOCP timings—trying 16-18-18-36—and adjusting others—but nothing significantly changed stability. It seems the timings are fine as they are, and it doesn’t appear to be an issue whether you use a specific CPU or chipset. If you want better performance, lower timings usually help, but this model already runs smoothly at its current settings.

The primary reason I understand its presence is that when the first-gen Ryzen launched, there was uncertainty about whether the memory would function properly, especially at full rated speeds. The "Optimized for Ryzen" label was used mainly for marketing purposes, indicating that kits tested with Ryzen would likely perform near the advertised speeds. This didn't imply all other kits failed; I personally tested a kit on my 1700 without mentioning Ryzen at 3200MHz CL16, just to suggest a higher likelihood of success. The significance has decreased over time because the Ryzen memory controller has improved, though I still think they fine-tune timing for those specific kits.
