This Aorus GeForce RTX 3080 Xtreme model is seeking overclocking and 3Dmark scores.
so..
a little for fun but am seriously to .. -
yes nothing has being wrong so far ,- all good , running smoothly , despite fps sometimes is low , but we also know games often is really poorly optimized .. no matter your hardware ..-
- and for my sake , 9 out of 10 the game , game play is butter smooth , despite lower fps .- , thats fine for me .. though i know some freaks over it , granted at times a game, should perform better" still.. butter smooth gameplay ..
--
i was just wondering and always have.. . if there might be a slight bottle neck somewhere?
or something holding , my pc power /performance back .. ?
a slight setting in bios , a voltage setting somewhere .. a 5 % increases here or something like that
--
and no ,i haven't never overclocked or anything ever - ... until yesterday , with NVidia app auto thing , as a safe starter ..then i might do a little bit afterburner MSI " from guides, - recommendations . "
---
and regarding 3Dmark on steam .- not the 1 and only benchmark .. i gonna test others .. but taking that as an example .-
i heard that, with a card like this , and good cpu ,- you should get a good score above 10,000 on 4k ? .. if i was wrong ,, and they all tested on 1080 or some .? .. "wow " okay.. -
as i do using 4k currently , a tv now -. real monitor later ..
before that i used ,ultra wide .--
.....
so.. that said ..- why do i only get like 8200 in score ?..-'
.. thats my puzzling .. - i dont really care .. but i am curios .. wondering
.- also just outside that .. if there is something in my system i can improve a bit , before i might jump to ddr5 and new motherboard in a few years , along with 5080 super or 6080 by then heh -.
though meanwhile, upgrading my ram to 64 or 128 gb is tempting .-
p.s ..
if you sitting with a 3080 to, and have it in safe overclocking and getting 10-50 % more boots, i open to hear what settings ?
https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/G...0GD-rev-10
-- i assume there isent any other version .,-
like , oh 1,0 came out 8 years ago .. but last year , a 2,0 Edtion came out " .. for the one i have, is from 2016-2018 or some ..
----
My pc info ..
mother board - Z490 Aorus master
CPU - intel core I9 10850k
ram - i belive its these -
G.Skill Trident Z 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 .
and gaming from a
Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 while Windows is on a SSD -
power should be
Corsair RM1000x 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
--
all in cosmos 2 super tower case " build like tank -
- excuse the text got a bit odd , but spelling - should be fine , despite no grammar..
..but should be the info needed ? .. otherwise ask -

all good , running smoothly , despite fps sometimes is low , but we also know games often is really poorly optimized .. no matter your hardware ..-
Might want to mention the titles you've taxed your system with.
i heard that, with a card like this , and good cpu ,- you should get a good score above 10,000 on 4k ? .. if i was wrong ,, and they all tested on 1080 or some .? .. "wow " okay.. -
Let's start with your current system specs. Please list them like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.
Nice to see you there : ) .-
I just jotted down what came to my mind first, then I wanted to make it a bit better...
But thank you.
I also have this link:

CPU:
Intel Core I9 10850K
CPU cooler:
Be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 50.5 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard:
Z490 Aorus master
RAM:
G.Skill Trident Z 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory – a bit outdated now
SSD/HDD:
Samsung 850 Pro 512 GB 2.5" SSD – Windows – also quite old
Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME SSD – for gaming
Western Digital Black 4 TB 3.5" 7200 RPM HDD – also quite old
GPU:
Gigabyte AORUS XTREME GeForce RTX 3080 10GB 10 GB Video Card – a bit outdated
PSU:
Corsair RM1000x 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply – also quite old
Chassis:
Cooler Master Cosmos II ATX Full Tower Case
OS: Windows 11 Home
Monitor:
LG Electronic LG TV Oled 55 – a bit outdated, but it’s my main front monitor now.
Predator 1440p ACER XB27 – a bit outdated, though it was meant for an extra side screen.
My usual main screen is the Gigabyte M34WQ 34.0" 3440 x 1440.
I might consider upgrading to something in 4K next month, but I’m aiming for that.
Gigabyte 32-inch screen, either IPS or OLED.
The PCPartPicker list indicates an RTX 5070 Ti, but your thread title mentioned an RTX 3080. If you're attempting to mislead, you won't receive much help from the community. Please share your current BIOS version and PSU age. If drivers aren't updated after a GPU change, use DDU to clear all GPU drivers (Intel, AMD, Nvidia) in Safe Mode, then install the newest driver from Nvidia's support site via an elevated command, such as right-clicking the installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
So yes, from the screen perspective, by the end of this year... it will be properly a gigabyte 32 screen 4k display, either IPS or OLED as the main choice.
Side screens
Predator 1440p Acer XB27
Gigabyte M34WQ 34.0" 3440 x 1440, etc.
My TV will be a stand and only connected when I go to bed, just to watch things on it.
Um, sorry? You were a bit quick in your reply—there was a delay before you could correct it. A second later, you replied.
Not here to confuse. I want all my information accurate. Being polite while asking for help is important, even though my grammar is a bit tricky.
My PSU isn’t sure about the exact age. I was just typing in the details and then checking around... please give me a moment.
Same with the BIOS—
Yeah, it sounds right. But I only ever had Nvidia chips before this one. My old card was a 1080i, so it’s probably not needed now?
Bios version/date: American Megatrends Inc., F3, 25/03/2020, read from system info window.
PSU age... I bought it on 10-03-2016. That should be the same as when I was using it now.
If someone ends up here, please read through this—thanks for your help.
What can I do to improve my 3DMark score?
Why is my score low? Unless it’s normal.
I’m currently using 4k on a TV, but by the end of the year I’d prefer a proper monitor, aiming for 4k maximum.
Is there something missing in my system?
And any advice on overclocking a 3080? Just a bit, not too extreme.
Also, if you’re staying the same, I’ll watch videos and small guides while I can.
That’s about it—short summary.
P.S. Upgrading to 64 or 128 RAM might be possible by the end of the year.
And when the 5080 or 6080 comes out, I’ll try to get that too.
At best, in a few years I might consider DDR5, but that’s not my main goal right now.
