I purchased a used CX750M and plan to install it in my i7 6700k/z270 setup. I found that one metal connector was bent (likely pushed into place), so I adjusted it to fit the motherboard. I'm curious if it's safe to use the power supply in this way. Thanks, Simeon

The image isn't very sharp. It seems to be entirely damaged. I wouldn't recommend using it.

I’d attempt to obtain a fresh plug. If your power supply unit is modular, you might be able to purchase a substitute.

It isn't a complete burn; only parts of the metal and plastic were affected.

If the power source performed that action, I recommend swapping it out immediately to avoid serious consequences.

Nvm that sounds like a better idea. But if its a modular PSU and the other cables are perfectly fine i would try and get a new 8 pin cpu cable at the very least Edited July 13, 2020 by Goku1814

Yes, you can inquire about that. And I’m certain it’s not burned.

It's a green CX 750, formerly known as a GS 750 from ten years back...—definitely not great.

Just wanted to confirm everything. But I wouldn't rely on it if I had unlimited power.
