Third screen shows intermittent issues.
Hi everyone, I just set up a new workspace for my girlfriend and faced an issue with the third display flickering. Initially, she used her HP Elite Book laptop paired with a Dell 3440x1440 curved monitor without any problems. The monitor connects via HDMI to a hub, which in turn links to the laptop through a Type C port. When I added a Lenovo 2K display either via HDMI or DP cable, the original 4K monitor started flickering—like shaking an image slightly. Each display functions normally alone but becomes unstable when connected together. I attempted several solutions: updating all drivers, connecting one monitor directly over HDMI to the PC and the other via DP through the hub. Both setups worked fine. When both were connected through the hub on my Zephyrus M15, everything functioned perfectly. Any suggestions or advice would be helpful. Specs: HP Elite Book 1040 G6, Intel UHD Graphics 620, 1.8 GHz, 16GB RAM.
Your processor can handle up to three displays, so that’s unlikely the cause. But the CPU only supports 4K at 60Hz. Verify your monitor settings match that resolution when using 4K. If this isn’t the issue, note that HDMI uses many pins while USB-C has just four. Even with two USB-C connections, performance might suffer through the hub, so you may need to lower the resolution on the connected monitor.
