I've been working on restoring an older Lenovo Thinkpad T420. The device functions perfectly when plugged in before it starts, but charging fails if you connect it afterward. Turning it off and then plugging it back in causes the battery to drain completely. I've tried several fixes so far: swapped the original battery, removed the CMOS battery, used different power adapters, and checked the charging port with the cover off. None of these steps resolved the problem. Could you have any other ideas to try?
