I'm not sure when things started to change; I recently replaced the battery, though I don't think that's the main reason for the overheating. The problem appears to involve multiple factors, which is making it difficult to fix. Current situation: My laptop shuts down under heavy use (around 60-100% load). Temperatures reported seem to come from internal sensors indicating overheating. I assumed the CPU was overheating, but checking the temps didn't show anything close. I disassembled and cleaned the CPU fan thoroughly and sprayed it well. Also, my second battery works fine but doesn't turn on when the main battery fails.

Check the area around the battery cover. If it feels excessively warm, the battery might be damaged.

They’re both fresh batteries (last used about a month), probably just need a fresh thermal paste application and thorough fan cleaning. Hope that fixes it, otherwise I’m confused.

Are they from Lenovo or aftermarket? It's possible that they are duds.

eBay functioned well initially, but later they seemed unreliable; their updates appeared inconsistent.

Receiving a faulty battery isn't uncommon. The issue usually stems from production rather than the buyer.

If you need to review the reports, a document might still contain errors and a faulty battery could exist.

Check the laptop and touch the battery area with your hand. If it feels excessively warm, the battery could be faulty and pose a fire risk. A report may not always be helpful. Place the laptop on a raised surface to allow better heat release.

I performed this during stress tests, lifted it in the air, but it didn’t make much difference.

I would track temperatures during typical operation. If the processor becomes excessively warm, it would trigger thermal throttling, causing fans to increase speed.
