The third-gen Ryzen matches Skylake in performance when looking at IPC and speed. Right now, the gap isn't very big, but these chips provide better value, use less power, and aren't limited by the same design constraints.

They don't really need to... they've already proven strong in gaming performance. The 10th generation CPU is probably not much better than today's top models, like the 9900K series. This generation is just a refresh, a refresh, and maybe adding two more cores each time.
