Uncertain about garage sales in Australia, but I spent $2.50 on a 1680x1050 Dell monitor at one place, and it was in perfect shape. Now I’m using it.

It seems like the display didn't behave as expected, possibly due to driver issues. I'll inspect it further tomorrow.
