I own a collection of old FPS titles in my Steam library, but many lack reset options for UW monitors like Splintercell, Crysis, and Just Cause 2. This causes misalignment, making crosshairs inaccurate and aiming difficult. I've experimented with community mods, though they often crash after a short time. How do players using UW monitors address this issue?
They likely had solid black edges, and you can set the game to 1080p in the preferences.
I mainly mention games for Windows or Windowed Border less. They begin in 1920x1080 mode with a black bar on the sides. If this doesn’t work, I’m really disappointed and stopped playing them because my eyes can’t handle the stretched image. Sadly, there’s no real fix.
I also attempted that, adjusting the monitor resolution. It was terrible to view, with a significant stretch.
I use my 1680x1050 monitor for retro gaming sessions. The Flawless Widescreen program helps with scaling, though it doesn’t support all games.
I attempted flawless widescreen on Kotor, but it caused crashes every time I tried to use it, even though the game was supported. I'm thinking about switching to a 16:9 monitor for older titles, but I'd prefer a UW monitor with better refresh rates if I could resolve this issue.
