X5670 offers a higher multiplier than X5650 yet performs better in binning, potentially allowing higher overclocks or lower voltage requirements for the same speed. X5675 is commonly suggested due to its superior binning and lower price compared to X5680 and X5690. X5690 and X5680 are mainly suited for non-overclockable dual or single socket configurations, though Intel Xeon W3680 (i7-980X) and W3690 can be overclocked via Intel XTU because they support unlocked multipliers. I currently have a X5670 running at 4.4GHz (22x200, ~1.385v) in my main system.

It seems the 5680/90 doesn’t really fit my expectations, especially if you’re investing in those old chips—upgrading to AM4 might be a better choice. I wonder why Intel didn’t adopt Westmere technology sooner. Back then, a 4.2GHz 6-core/12-thread processor would have been something new.

The issue is that I can't boost performance since the basic HP Mobo BIOS doesn’t allow it, and there’s no available custom BIOS to install.

Thank you, but I've already attempted that and it didn't work.

These additional cores will assist with video editing and production tasks.

The HP z800 board lacks overclocking features, meaning I’ll have to create a custom BIOS. I haven’t found any available one in the past year for this model.

Single-core efficiency in shaders is sufficient.

Some SEUS shaders run smoothly on my X5670 even when running at default settings, though my 2GB GTX 960 seems to be the limiting factor.

Uncertain if this works but I might use intense shaders at 60 frames per second and high settings on a GTX 1060 with a 3700x. It looks odd since they performed much worse on a 2200g.
