Over the last month I've experienced a problem where my PC, while playing GTA 5, would suddenly power off completely—no blue screen, no warnings, just lights going out and monitors going black. This happens whenever I switch to Red Dead 2 as well. I’ve looked into crash reports but only got generic error messages; Windows doesn’t provide much detail. I suspect the power supply unit (PSU) might be failing, especially since it’s an older model with non-modular cables. I’m not sure if it’s the PSU or something else, and I don’t have the funds to replace it right now. The only solution I know is to manually turn off the PSU via its power switch and then reconnect it. It’s possible the unit is weaker now, but that seems likely. Any advice or alternatives would be greatly appreciated in case it’s not just the PSU.

It seems the PSU is likely triggering a protection due to overheating or similar issues. Ensure all surrounding components are free of dust.
