I was organizing a project with the 3600XT and thought about adding DDR5. I searched extensively, but didn’t find any DDR5 4-in-1 motherboards. Why? The nearest options are DDR4 speeds like 4600MHz or 4800MHz U-DIMM RAM.

Yes, I recognize that the AM4 platform was introduced in early 2017.

No processors with AM4 support DDR5 availability.

Yes, certain AM4 boards are still being made, and there are also LGA1200 DDR5 boards available.

DDR4 5000+ models are available in limited sets. It doesn't really matter since CPUs don't back DDR5 support. The highest practical speed you can achieve with your 3600XT is around 3800MHz using a C14 chip on Samsung B-Die or a C16 on Micron Rev E.

LGA 1700 boards are available in both DDR4 and DDR5 versions since Alder Lake and Rocket Lake back them up.

Showing you an example, are you certain you meant LGA 1700? Intel's 12th and 13th gen chips fit between DDR4 and DDR5. If you need DDR4 support, it's possible. For DDR5, you can still do it. AMD isn't planning to follow AM5; they stick with either DDR4 or DDR5 only.

They're not compatible. The socket used for AM4 was LGA 1151 "v2," which doesn't support DDR5 because the standard hadn't been finalized at the time. No current CPU fits that architecture.

No, you can still try it. Just make sure your system supports 4600MHz RAM and check the compatibility before proceeding.
