It appears the situation is more severe than it seems. He spends a lot of effort on his present role using a remote login. The remaining accounts belong to the local scout group he helps out with, and fortunately they were saved on his USB drive.

Don’t provide any funds; to have a chance at recovering your information you’ll need to figure out how it’s encrypted and attempt to retrieve it yourself. I assure you these individuals won’t hand over your data once you pay. Consider disconnecting your device from the internet, turning off Wi-Fi, and other steps to prevent remote access.

I wouldn't encourage hacking, but sharing this on Hackforums could connect many professionals—crypters, decrypters, and programmers are active there. Check out the forum at http://www.hackforums.net/forumdisplay.php?fid=110

Keep imagining, buddy—even Tianhe-2 might struggle with that. Military-grade encryption is tough to break.

It seems the system was affected by a virus despite common security measures. Many users experience this, especially when visiting sites without proper protection. Last year there were still frequent infections.

I don’t have direct access to tools for determining encryption types. You may need specialized software or services to analyze it effectively.
