Assembled a new PC featuring an MSI Pro VDH WiFi and a Ryzen 5700X. After one month, the system experienced boot problems due to a DRAM light on the motherboard. Attempted using single RAM modules, but the issue persisted. I’m confused about why both RAM sticks failed.

I think the issue might be the CPU not being properly seated. Take it out, look for any bent pins, straighten them if necessary, and attempt the installation again.

rma rams could be defective if repairs don’t resolve the issue, as the rma board is the most probable culprit after problems arise. Lemon parts may fail prematurely, leading to quicker failures than expected—this is covered under warranty. Incorrect mounting pressure can cause flaky rams, but this is unlikely for am4 and probably not possible for pga variants. Bent pins might prevent proper installation, making the CPU incompatible. This concern applies to LGA CPUs where pad corrosion or mounting issues, such as on x58, can lead to flaky rams, especially during high-frequency overclocking. Stock or slow xmp rams are generally less affected.

DRAM indicators refer to any aspect connected to RAM. Components like memory modules, the CPU, and the motherboard can all be involved. The most effective method to verify faulty modules is to connect them to another system and execute tools such as memtest86 or comparable software.

Consider testing the RAM using memtest on a different machine if possible. If needed, ask a friend to lend their computer for a more accurate check.

It’s clear from checking the CPU, but if the pins are damaged, it wouldn’t start at all because the RAM connections are gone and it keeps failing to boot.

never encountered problems with corroded pins, but the socket can still collect dirt—this has happened before, often through the CPU pins. Usually you need to remove the socket cover, which is tough on a poor Foxconn socket since they don’t design for easy removal without damage. That’s why I’m looking for an AM3 socket cover; it’s really difficult to take off without breaking it.
