I chose to install my latest chipset and was surprised when it started up. This is the second 7700x I’ve modified using my ASRock x670 Pro RX. What’s going on here?

We can begin with the basics of setting up a PC, but you're beyond that point. Things like connections matter, and your PSU is likely the main reason for any damage I can think of. It's uncommon for a motherboard to cause problems these days. Do you experience power issues at home? Any fluctuations or dimming lights? I don’t have much experience with ASRock boards, so I can’t offer specific advice.

And by boot I mean it’s showing error codes as a blue screen. So far it’s not happy with me inserting my old hard drive and pressing start. I’m trying to use the Win 11 boot disk to fix it, but I’m not getting much success yet. There don’t seem to be power issues, and it was plugged into a surge protector. It’s a Corsair rm850x, which shouldn’t be the cause. Lol, I restarted it a few times to trigger the blue screens, and it eventually booted into Windows 11 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. At least it’s working now, but I’m still trying to understand what’s causing this instability. Maybe a BIOS update is needed, along with other updates. I might attempt a clean install of Win 11 and learn how to create a recovery drive or another setup. More updates coming.

I've spent the morning working on it and haven't had much success. I created a bootable drive for Win 11 to attempt a repair of my main drive, but that didn't work. After removing it, I wiped another SSD to try installing Windows 10 fresh. It installed, but I keep seeing blue screens before I can proceed. The error codes suggest driver issues, indicating something isn't configured correctly. If this doesn't resolve the problem, it might be easier to take it to a repair shop like MicroCenter.

You've checked the basic components, but there might still be missing items like GPU drivers, WiFi support, BIOS updates, or utilities.

The issue is that the system fails to complete updates, causing crashes at startup or immediately afterward.

During installation you're limited to one drive for setup, no extra storage to cause problems or run an older version of Windows. The GPU starts with the standard Windows display driver, and network settings are set to the default options.

right, one fresh drive with one partition with win10 on it, but it's blue screening before it even posts. Half the time it won't even post and half the time it crashes and blue screens while its starting up. I haven't even gotten to the win 10 desktop. I have no idea how it's tripping over driver issues before windows even starts up. Only thing I can think of is amd chipset or ASRock driver set that's out of date or incompatible somehow. But I can't get to the point that I can fix it.
