I own a small local film production business. For this purpose, I set up two identical PCs. One runs an 8700 (non-K), 1070,64GB RAM, 2666MB SSD on an ASUS Prime 370+. The other uses a 7700 (non-K) with 64GB RAM all connected to a 1060 via a Strix B250f. I store my files on a NAS, allowing both machines to access them together. My issue is that when I start the 7700 machine, it connects to the NAS—its network storage appears normal, no X in the corner. It works fine once I connect drives; the X disappears as they refresh. The problem is that video editing software fails to recognize the drives when the X is present. Also, a Windows critical error "GONG" occurs during startup, and disabling Windows Spotlight doesn’t stop it. Interestingly, the 7700 runs without issues even with Windows Spotlight on, while my Pentium laptop does the same. Someone knows why this happens on my 8700 and Pentium, but not on the 7700. Maybe it’s because of a gaming motherboard?
