It's unclear whether a BIOS update is necessary. Since it's still running Zen2 and there haven't been any changes to the micro-code, it might function properly without an update.

Reviewing several motherboards, it seems makers have released fresh BIOS updates recently, all targeting the AGESA code. I’d anticipate any B550 or X570 board would boot with an XT CPU even if the BIOS is older, but I’d still likely upgrade for better compatibility.
