These PCIe cables feature two ends (both 6+2 pin configurations), and I connected the one that comes out of the main connector. It’s fine, actually. The choice between them doesn’t really matter much. I mostly picked the one from the main connector just because it seemed simpler. If you need to use the main connector, I’ll go with that instead.
What video card model are you referring to? Two cables work well; however, if power usage is minimal, a single cable with both connectors can suffice. If you opt for two cables, positioning the connector near the power supply and securing the other end with a small tie or a rubber band would be ideal.
Consider using two separate cables, with the one nearer the power supply for better performance.
Using two cables is generally the optimal choice... though they deliver less power than a single line even if that cable is rated for it. The PSU isn't sending all the needed power through one outlet but splits it, which might sound confusing but could be efficient in racing if you stick to my quirky ideas.
When dealing with two separate PCIe power cables, it works well. For your 3080 Ti, which requires a lot of power, it's best to use two separate cables instead of connecting them in a chain. If you're going for a cleaner look or using the 'tail' connector, that's acceptable but not ideal from an appearance standpoint.
