Yes, the PS4 and Xbox One are considered next-generation consoles.
I understand this addresses the speed issue, but many U.S. ISPs impose excessive 100GB or even 50GB monthly caps. Downloading a few games can quickly reach your limit.
I’m okay with a bit slower performance than a cap limit. My nets are already bundled with the TV, and I’m hoping for a second line soon.
You don't require games on a standard SSD. That's a waste of money that could go toward a higher-end 3rd 780 or upgrading to twin twin titan blacks. Game sizes are actually quite compact. I recall from years past you'd need a 1GB HDD, and some titles would take 200-300MB—about a third of today's biggest consumer HDDs. A 100GB game is the largest available, and the biggest HDDs reach up to 6TB (soon expanding to 8 or 10TB). In terms of size, games have become much smaller over time.
In certain titles where loading duration affects winning odds, having that game on an SSD is essential.
Game design can be frustrating when it feels unoriginal, especially with titles like Battlefield 4.
These games are reasonably close together, and there are choices like SSHDs and Velicoraptors available. An HDD still works well since most players don’t own SSD-only setups; you shouldn’t have any issues...
