I possess a MSI GL65 9SC laptop equipped with 8GB DDR4 2666MHz SK Hynix memory. The device includes another RAM port that is currently unused, and I aim to install an additional one there. I haven’t located the identical RAM in any local stores, though I discovered a nearly matching unit with only one character altered in its part number. HMA81GS6DJR8N-VK represents the current RAM identifier for my machine, while HMA81GS6CJR8N-VK denotes the part number of the alternative RAM I found. According to SK-Hynix’s website, the differing letter indicates a transition from 4th generation to 5th generation memory. Therefore, my laptop currently contains a 5th generation DIE RAM module, which is essentially the same as the one I located. Should this new RAM function properly on my system, or should I consider purchasing two units instead?
