Bring your card to the repair shop for a check-up. They'll look for any signs of damage, especially around areas where fans should not be present. It's possible a trace linked to fan control has been affected... MVDDC and MVDDQ are connected to power going to the VRAM.

For future use: I reworked the card and swapped out all thermal pads, which lowered the temperature by more than 20°C. The hotspot now stays below 80°C. This leads to visible but not extreme fan speeds. If you have a GPU with a hotspot above 100°C, reworking and adding new pads is probably worth it!
