Basically, Windows updated yesterday without any notice or prompt. Since then I've encountered two significant issues and one unresolved problem from before. One major bug is that the system won't connect to Steam within seven days after the update—possibly due to an OS-related issue. Another problem is that pressing the power button isn't enough to shut it down; I need to press Power + ALT + Delete to see an error. A third issue occurs when putting my PC to sleep—it wakes up unexpectedly, and the Windows Update feature doesn’t work properly. This happened during a previous update when I was playing "7 Days to Die" without warning.

This behavior has been consistent before reinstalling Windows, which would briefly turn on for a few seconds before shutting down, but now it keeps turning back on even after reinstall. That’s concerning because I usually put my PC to sleep to avoid losing data. The recent updates during sleep periods have caused this instability.

It seems these problems aren’t unique to me, but they’re definitely affecting my experience. Windows 10 feels unreliable right now, especially since I can’t rely on Linux or emulators for my games and programs.

Hi, for better results try these actions: Open the Start menu, type Troubleshooting, press Enter. On the left side, select View all. If the issue persists after using Power troubleshooter, run these steps: Press Windows key + X, choose Command Prompt (Admin). Enter or copy the command and press Enter. Then type powercfg –restoredefaultschemes in the Command Prompt, exit, and restart your computer to save changes. Hope this helps.

I'll check those issues, thank you. Microsoft, could you please improve the search bar functionality? It's not working properly. For example, when searching for DXdiag, typing "DXd" suggests a PAS file, but typing "DXdiag" leads to the web. The same happens with Pelle C IDE—different variations yield different results. I don't want to rely on searching online just to find programs; I prefer using the built-in tool if possible. It's frustrating when you have to type everything carefully. I'm not complaining about Windows 10, but it can be annoying sometimes.

You can turn off Cortana's web searches completely, just like I did. Find instructions on how to do it if needed.

Sure, I can help with that. Just remember to remove Cortana from your device so it won’t interfere with your setup.

They were really funny, though it was a bit ironic that I missed most of what they said. Anyway, I’m not sure if you can remove it, but since it’s a small program, it disappears once it’s turned off.

Really, those accents aren't that strong. And I'll be fine.

I struggle with accents from the Middle East and thick Scottish dialects.
