I'm choosing components for a PC I'm assembling for a friend. I'm going with a Ryzen 3600 and an RX 5700 XT, planning to fit them into either an Asus B450-F gaming or an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard. My concern is whether these boards can handle 3600MHz RAM for Zen 2 CPUs. I looked up their Qualified Vendors List and it claims compatibility with the memory I plan to use (Corsair RGB 16GB, CMW16GX4M2C3600C18). However, some forums mention issues with stable performance on these boards at that speed. Can anyone verify if these B450 models truly support 3600MHz RAM as stated by the manufacturers? I'm worried about a similar problem as with my old Zen 1 system and don't want my friend to face the same issue. [link to both motherboards QVL list]

It's possible to achieve it, though not with absolute confidence. 3200MHz offers a higher speed compared to many B450 boards, as motherboard quality plays a role in memory performance. You won't be significantly affected by a slight reduction in speed.
