I'm an IT consultant with experience designing batch scripts. I've developed a few .bat files to adjust firewall settings for my clients using Office 2021. Some users are encountering problems on specific machines. Have you noticed the same issue? Are there any solutions or workarounds available? Please share any ideas you have. Thank you!

Ensure your scripts include echo statements for clarity. Check if they encounter failures right away or stall at specific points. Share any error messages you observe.

I've seen this happen before; here's something to check: In Regedit, drill down to this key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.bat Export it to a file as a backup, then remove the UserChoice subfolder if it's there. You might have to log out and back in again, but this might restore the default behavior.

It looks like I made an error with the file path containing both a space and an ampersand. I came across a similar article from a while ago, but the process in my office caused this to happen on all new computers we install. I didn’t realize it until now. Thanks for your prompt replies.
