I purchased a Thermaltake GF3 1650w PSU two years ago with a 10-year warranty, leaving me with eight years remaining. To keep my system operational, I replaced it with a 1200 watt PSU while the original was being serviced under warranty. They returned me a brand new 1650 watt unit in a sealed box, which I’m now selling since the 1200 watt model is sufficient. I’m considering reselling the 1650 watt to recoup my investment. My concern is whether the warranty from the original purchase transfers to the new owner; I’m unsure if this is possible or not. I’d like to find guidance on this matter.

You can reach out to Thermaltake and your seller to verify this. From my location, I understand that having proof of purchase ensures the warranty is applied to the individual presenting it at the store.

The warranty lasts 7 years, not 10.
The warranty cannot be transferred; only the original customer is eligible for coverage.

The warranty is clearly stated as a ten-year guarantee on the packaging.

It's unclear whether it can be passed on to someone else.
