Thermalright Peerless Assassin SE ARGB wire set for fans
Thermalright Peerless Assassin SE ARGB wire set for fans
I purchased the fan, installed it, and everything worked fine. However, I’m struggling to locate a place to connect the RGB cables. There’s another post similar to this, but I didn’t fully grasp the steps. My motherboard (MSI Pro B550m-vc Wi-Fi) only has one CPU fan port, so I’ll need to use the Y cable that came with the fan. This leaves me with these wires shown in the picture. The Jrainbow socket connects to my fan hub, which has three pins without gaps—meaning I only have a four-pin JRGB socket. Do you have a way to link the RGB cables, or would I need a 3-pin to 4-pin adapter? You might want to check Amazon for a suitable connector.
RGB cables connect to the correct headers, not fan headers. Your board includes two of them.
Connect the "1x 3-pin RAINBOW LED connector" (avoid the 4-pin version, as it's rated for 12V while your RGB is 5V). According to your Mobo guide, it sits at the top right of the RAM slot (highlighted in yellow "JRAINBOW1" slot) next to the AIO pump header. For the fan, since the closest CPU cooler is CPU_FAN1, you might need a Y-connector; it comes with your ThermalRight Peerless Assassin. Regarding the RGB, you may need to buy a separate 5V Y-connector because your motherboard only has one header.
The fan hub uses JRAINBOW1, but the 3-pin setup lacks a central gap, preventing connection of the CPU fans.
