thermalright peerless assassin 120 issue (1 fan not functioning)
I included the two fans with the cooler and the y splitter in the CPU fan socket. Only one fan is spinning, located outside the fins, while the other remains off despite placement in between the fins. I also tried switching one fan to CPU_opt and the other to CPU_fan, but it didn’t help. I even flipped them around, yet the issue persists. In my first post, a CPU fan error appeared. I assumed a BIOS update was needed since the motherboard is an ASUS Prime B550M-A Wi-Fi II. After updating, the error disappeared but the fan still doesn’t work. Is the fan defective or did I install it incorrectly?
If it doesn't spin even when you remove it from the cooler then you have gotten a faulty fan unfortunately. It happens sometimes and not much to do about it but send the cooler back or apply for warranty. Good news is that the peerless can run with one fan no problem
