Thermal throttling on CPU at low temperatures
Thermal throttling on CPU at low temperatures
The 2400G won’t handle high temperatures well, especially without proper airflow through the case.
I understand it seemed odd, but my setup has sufficient airflow—it's mostly open air. I also run QMD Wraith Stealth with quality thermal paste (Arctic 5).
Check if the cooler is firmly attached to the backplate consistently. Verify you applied sufficient compound. Confirm the CPU cooler fan curve matches BIOS settings. Ensure it maintains temperatures above 80°C during intense gaming. Even with the Stealth cooler, expect issues with a low fan speed in a poorly ventilated case when running at 2400G on a suboptimal curve. Are you pushing it too hard or altering voltage?
I’m not sure what was happening. I even restored the CMOS, but it kept doing that. The only solution was turning the fan to full speed, which was very loud, but it worked out fine.
Restarting the BIOS is a helpful action, but if the default configurations are wrong, simply resetting won’t resolve the issue. Consult the BIOS documentation for your device and check the CPU thermal settings—this might be listed in a hardware or fans section, or under a PBO (Power Management) area.
