Is it really that fast? You might be pushing it too hard. Try reducing it to around 1.1v.

Caching boosts performance significantly. Overclocking typically raises speeds to around 4.7-5.1ghz, with more generally equaling better results.

you shouldn't do that anymore. I don’t have the chart, but it looks like the system is running at 1.15v for 4.5ghz across all 9700k. The CPU cache should be around 200mhz lower than the CPU speed. All of these components should handle 4.7ghz at 1.3v vcore. I think the actual Vcore is higher than it should be, which might explain the 100C warning. Check with hwinfo and share the results here. You don’t need 1.3v unless your RAM is at 4000; 1.25v would suffice if you fix the issues. I recommend a 5ghz OC with a 4.8cache—there’s a noticeable performance jump from 4.7 to 4.8.

Yes, though it might not be superior to frequency overclocking. It remains better than cache overclocking when looking at performance gains.

The cache shouldn't be positioned lower than the CPU speed. It won't cause any issues except for a slight increase in temperature. Vcocio at most 1.2v is fine. 1.1v should suffice.

It's shown that matching cache size to CPU can lead to instability. Only about 5% of CPUs support cache=CPU frequencies, which varies with RAM. The 1.1V model may not be sufficient. Maximum IO performance should stay around 1.3V for regular tasks.

Hey, you should really think about your overclocking maybe. Yeah, cache overclocking works well. Most chips go up to 5GHz. Some run at 4.9 and others at 5.2. It's all about luck with the silicon. You'd be amazed how much speed you get from that cache boost.
